なぜ、リベラルな国際秩序は危機に直面するようになったのか？それはいつからだったのか？そして、欧米中心に発展してきた国際秩序のグローバル化は、インド太平洋地域の国際政治にいかなる影響を及ぼしてきたのか？
いま、リベラルな国際秩序は悲鳴を上げ始め、われわれは世界史的な転換点に立っています。中国とロシアによる挑戦ばかりではなく、いわゆる「グローバル・サウス」と呼ばれる国々が、欧米中心に作られたリベラルな国際秩序に反旗を翻し、これまで以上に世界が分断されつつあります。
オープンアクセスの英語での著書、The Transformation of the Liberal International Order: Evolutions and Limitations (Springer, 2023)の刊行を受けて、その編者であるハンス・クンドナニ英国王立問題研究所上席研究員と細谷雄一戦略構想センター長（慶應義塾大学教授）に、執筆者の1人である鈴木一人東京大学公共政策大学院教授を加えてオープン・フォーラムを開催し、変容するリベラルな国際秩序の未来について検討します。

Why is the liberal international order facing a series of crises? What are the origins of the crises? How is the globalization of Western international order affecting the international politics in the Indo-Pacific region? We are currently at the turning point of the world history, observing that the liberal international order is on the brink of demise. Not only China and Russia, but the Global South countries are also criticizing the Western nature of the liberal international order. In this event, the two co-editors of a newly published book, The Transformation of the Liberal International Order: Evolutions and Limitations (Springer, 2023), together with a contributor, Professor Kazuto Suzuki of the University of Tokyo, will examine the future direction of the liberal international order.
