On October 16, 2023, Keio Center for Strategy (KCS) held the fourth Keio Strategic Forum (KSF) titled, “Japan’s Graying Security Landscape.”

During the forum, Professor Andrew L. Oros, an expert on East Asian security (Washington College), was invited to deliver a keynote speech, setting the stage for a discussion with the forum participants.

In his keynote, Professor Oros explained the impact of declining birthrates and aging populations on security in East Asian countries, especially Japan. In the following discussion, participants raised various questions regarding the topic.
